When he was a child, he mistook the acid that his father used to test jewelry for its gold content and thought it was a beverage and was about to take a sip when his father knocked the bottle from his hand. However, during the incident, the acid splashed on his forearm resulting in severe damage.
Larry Fine’s son John passed away in a car accident on November 17, 1961, at the age of 24.
On March 2, 1974, he gave his last concert appearance was at Loara High School in Anaheim, California.
In honor of their contributions to the motion-pictures industry, The Three Stooges have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 1560 Vine Street in Hollywood, dedicated on August 30, 1983.
